MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
With over 22 years of experience teaching private lessons, I love to encourage student progress and to witness their accomplishments! Great care is taken to match student levels, interests, and abilities to the appropriate materials for ultimate personal success. I also like to intersperse musical games with lesson material to make learning fun. My ultimate mission as a teacher is to assist each individual to attain their musical goals, and to inspire in them a lifelong appreciation for the art of music.
I am committed to a comprehensive music teaching approach of building skills over time to accomplish student goals.

PARENTS: PRACTICE IS ESSENTIAL!
The best way you can support your child’s learning (besides enjoying hearing them play their instrument) is to provide time for them to practice. Most children have not yet learned how to discipline themselves, but they do want to feel accomplished. If you set aside 30 minutes before/after school or dinner, or as a break from homework 5 days a week, you will be setting your child up for personal accomplishment. I do understand that this isn’t always possible and will always work with each student regardless of the ideal preparation, but practicing is necessary for students to be accomplished in any task.
